In India you book PTE through your my PTE account on the official Pearson portal, where slots run almost daily across many cities. Register with details that exactly match your passport, choose your centre, date and time, and pay the ₹18,900 fee. Results usually arrive within 48 hours, so booking early gets you the best dates.
How do PTE exam dates work in India?
PTE has no fixed national exam dates. Unlike a once-a-month paper test, approved centres run computer-based sittings year-round, and you simply pick an open slot — often near-daily across major Indian cities, with new dates released on a rolling basis. Popular cities and weekends fill first, so the dates you see depend on how far ahead you look — booking two to four weeks out usually gives the widest choice.
Because there is no set timetable and availability updates continuously, the live calendar inside your myPTE account is the only reliable source for open dates. If your first-choice city is full, a nearby centre often has an earlier slot.

Where are the PTE test centres across India?
PTE Academic is delivered at approved Pearson test centres in cities across India — including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata and many more — with new dates added regularly. Centre lists update over time, so confirm your nearest option in myPTE.
If you’re flexible on location, comparing two or three nearby centres often reveals an earlier date than your first choice — useful when you’re working back from a visa or admission deadline.

What documents and ID do you need?
For PTE in India, a valid passport is the required ID — under Pearson’s identification policy it is the only accepted document, with no exceptions, whatever your citizenship. The name, date of birth and details on your booking must match it exactly. Bring the original physical passport (digital copies are not accepted) and arrive early for check-in; no notes or personal devices are allowed in the test room.
Even small differences between your booking name and your passport can stop you sitting the test. Double-check spelling and order before you pay.

How early should you book, and any slot tips?
Book about two to four weeks ahead for the best choice of dates and centres, and a little earlier around peak intake seasons. Crucially, book with enough runway to prepare — walking in ready beats grabbing the earliest possible date and under-preparing.
